Jos, Plateau State – The APC North Central Special Leader, Hon. David Aondofa, has donated 10 specialized tricycle wheelchairs to persons with disabilities in Plateau State as part of efforts to promote inclusion and improve the quality of life of vulnerable citizens.
The wheelchairs were presented during a visit by Hon. Aondofa to the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People’s Centre in Jos, a renowned disability-focused organisation that manufactures specialized mobility aids for persons with disabilities across Nigeria.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Hon. Aondofa reaffirmed his commitment to supporting persons with disabilities, stressing that access to mobility is fundamental to ensuring dignity, independence, education, healthcare, and economic participation. He noted that empowering persons with disabilities through assistive devices enables them to contribute more meaningfully to society.
The APC chieftain also called on elected officials, corporate organisations, philanthropists, and other well-meaning Nigerians to complement government efforts by investing in initiatives that enhance the welfare and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the donation, describing the wheelchairs as a life-changing intervention that would significantly improve their mobility, independence, and daily activities. They commended Hon. Aondofa for his compassion and commitment to advancing the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
The Beautiful Gate Handicapped People’s Centre has earned national recognition for producing and distributing high-quality mobility aids to persons with disabilities, helping thousands of beneficiaries across the country regain independence and improve their overall quality of life.
