Gadi Care Foundation has offered a lifetime scholarship to Abdulbasit Muhammad, a J.S.S 2 student with physical disability who possesses a passion for the arts from Jama’are LGA of Bauchi State.
Muhammad was honored with the Foundation’s Lifetime Scholarship Award during the launch of the enrollment program for 200 out-of-school children in Azare.
According to the Foundation, the prestigious award will provide Abdulbasit with the opportunity to pursue his education until his final destination, with the sponsorship and support of Gadi Care Foundation.
Speaking during the launch of the enrollment program for 200 out-of-school children in Azare, the President of the Foundation Fatima Garba Muhammad said Abdulbasit first came to their foundation’s attention in 2019 during their quarterly visit to Federal Medical Centre (FMC Azare) when he was just 10 years old. At that time, he faced physical challenges, having only one hand and no legs. Gadi Care Foundation stepped in to provide healthcare and support for him and his family.

She added that In 2019, they facilitated a life-changing journey for Abdulbasit by taking him to Maiduguri for a successful surgery, where he received two prosthetic legs and a prosthetic hand. Despite his physical limitations, “Abdulbasit is an accomplished artist with a strong passion for drawing” she said.
“Since his surgery in 2019, we have been committed to sponsoring his education, leading up to this moment when he was awarded the lifetime scholarship that ensures he can continue his educational journey under our care, through university, and beyond.
“Abdulbasit’s incredible journey, from facing physical challenges to receiving a lifetime scholarship, exemplifies the transformative impact that Gadi Care Foundation aims to achieve. Our commitment to education and empowerment is unwavering, and stories like Abdulbasit’s inspire us to continue our mission.
“We believe that every child deserves the chance to dream, learn, and succeed. However, we cannot do this alone. It is through the support of individuals and organizations that we can continue changing lives and building a brighter future” she said.
