Foundation Brings Hope to PWDs in Bogoro with Wheelchair Donation

by Inclusive News Network

The Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre, in collaboration with Mr. Moses Dauda Joshua Dunka, has donated wheelchairs to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Boi, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, in a gesture aimed at promoting mobility, independence and social inclusion.

The wheelchair distribution exercise was held on Monday in Boi Village, where beneficiaries received mobility aids to support their daily activities and participation in education, employment and community life.

Speaking during the event, representatives of the organisers said the intervention was designed to address the mobility challenges faced by many Persons with Disabilities, particularly those who lack access to appropriate assistive devices.

They noted that a wheelchair represents more than just a mobility aid, stressing that it can provide individuals with the freedom and confidence to pursue their aspirations and participate meaningfully in society.

“A wheelchair means different things to different people. For a child, it means the freedom to go to school and learn. For a parent, it means the freedom to work and provide. For an elder, it means the freedom to attend prayer, visit family and be part of the community,” a representative of the foundation stated.

The representative further explained that the absence of mobility aids often leaves many Persons with Disabilities confined to their homes and excluded from essential aspects of community life.

“But with it, they walk or roll into their purpose,” the statement added.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing the donation as a timely intervention that would make a significant difference in their daily lives and enable them to move around with greater independence.

The Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre also commended Mr. Moses Dauda Joshua Dunka for his partnership, commitment and support towards improving the lives of Persons with Disabilities in Bogoro Local Government Area.

The organisers called for continued support from individuals, organisations and government at all levels to ensure that Persons with Disabilities have access to appropriate assistive devices and the opportunities they need to live independent and dignified lives.
