The Chairman of the Abia State Commission for the Welfare of Disabled Persons, Dr. David Obinna Anyaele, has been honoured with the Meritorious Award as Ambassador of Faith during the 2026 Father’s Day celebration organized by the Men’s Christian Association of Dominion Parish, Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.
The award was presented in recognition of Dr. Anyaele’s commitment to faith, service, family values, and community development.
Speaking after receiving the honour, he expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Men’s Christian Association, led by Eme Orji Kalu, for finding him worthy of the recognition. He also acknowledged the role of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria in his upbringing, having been raised among members of the church in Aba, Abia State.
Reflecting on his journey as a father and a person with a disability, Dr. Anyaele described the award as a testament to God’s grace and faithfulness. Citing Joshua 1:9, he said the recognition reinforces his belief that disability is not a barrier to achieving purpose and making meaningful contributions to society.
He noted that the honour would further strengthen his commitment to promoting faith, service, family values, and an inclusive society where every person, regardless of ability or disability, can contribute to community development. Dr. Anyaele also thanked Stanley Onyebuchi and staff of the Abia State Commission for the Welfare of Disabled Persons for their support and solidarity at the event, giving glory to God for the recognition.
