The Chairman of the Abia State Commission for the Welfare of Disabled Persons, Dr. David Obinna Anyaele, has celebrated the successful completion of his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science with a specialization in International Law and Diplomacy from Babcock University.

Dr. Anyaele earned the doctorate after successfully defending his thesis, titled “International Disability Law and Service Delivery of National Institutions in Nigeria,” before the university’s Oral/External Defence Panel. The research examined the implementation of international disability law and its impact on service delivery by national institutions in Nigeria.

Speaking on the achievement, Dr. Anyaele expressed gratitude to members of the examination panel, including Godwin Onu of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Emmanuel Ajike, and Chigo Unegbu. He also acknowledged the support of his supervisor, Ngozi Nwogwugwu, co-supervisor and Head of Department, Eyitayo Adewunmi, and Chibuzor Nwaodike, for their guidance throughout the programme.

The disability rights advocate further thanked Chidi A. Odinkalu for sponsoring his studies, as well as faculty members, colleagues, and family members for their unwavering support. He paid tribute to the late Aaron O. Ogundiwin, who encouraged him to pursue the doctoral programme, and dedicated the achievement to God while reaffirming his commitment to advancing disability inclusion, policy development, and social justice in Nigeria.
