by Inclusive News Network

Katsina – The Special Assistant to the Katsina State Governor on Special Needs, Umar Jibril Bindawa, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of Katsina State, Hon. Justice Musa D. Abubakar, at the High Court of Justice on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

During the visit on Wednesday, Bindawa commended the Chief Judge for his longstanding commitment to the welfare of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the state. He also used the opportunity to advocate for the establishment of a state-owned Disability Commission as well as private or non-profit organizations focused on addressing the needs of PWDs.

Bindawa further appealed for the judiciary’s support in encouraging the state government to sponsor WAEC and NECO examination fees for underprivileged students—particularly those from families that cannot afford such costs—to prevent them from turning to begging or other harmful alternatives.

In response, Hon. Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar expressed deep concern for the challenges faced by PWDs and assured the visiting delegation of his full support. He pledged to raise the matter with Governor Dikko Umar Radda and promised to personally assist in paying examination fees for deserving indigent students, requesting a list of affected names for immediate action.

As a gesture of appreciation, Bindawa presented an Award of Excellence to the Chief Judge for his unwavering support and advocacy for disability inclusion in Katsina State.
