AccessTech Innovation and Research Center has unveiled its pioneering program aimed at empowering blind individuals through Python data analytics training.
This innovative initiative is designed to provide valuable skills and opportunities for the visually
impaired community, fostering inclusivity and unlocking their potential in the dynamic field of
data analytics.
The CEO and Chief Technical Officer at Accesstech Innovation Opeolu Akinola in a statement said “In a time where technology plays a pivotal role in shaping industries, AccessTech acknowledges
the critical need to ensure equal access to educational and professional opportunities for
everyone. With this commitment in mind, the centre has developed a comprehensive training
program centred around Python—a versatile programming language widely employed in data analytics.”
The course was facilitated by Victor Ekwueme a certified Data analyst and Odoo specialist who is also visually impaired.
A visually impaired beneficiary of the training, Ibrahim Olalekan said “The program has empowered me to give value to organizations by providing data analysis services, open more opportunities in the tech spaces and increase my ability to design programs that solve problems.”
The program was delivered onsite at the Accesstech Innovation and Research Center in Surulere Lagos.
The organization invites the media, the government and other stakeholders to join in equipping blind individuals with the essential skills and knowledge for data analytics to contribute to an equitable and inclusive future.
