The Ikotun/Igando Deaf Development Association (IDDA) chairman, Mr. Ojo Taiwo Moses urged government to include it’s members in local politics and initiatives.

The chairman of the association, Mr. Ojo Taiwo Moses made the call yesterday, Wednesday in Lagos during the first edition of the association’s awareness day and fund raising with theme: inclusion of the Deaf in local policies and initiatives” 
He said “it’s our belief that inclusion of the Deaf in local policies and initiatives will speed up developmental efforts and enable the Deaf to maximise their God-given talents, skills and potentials.”
He added “instead of being a liability to our family and ourselves as well as the society, we want to contribute our quota to the national economic growth and development”

Taiwo also told Inclusive News Network during the interview session that Government should find time and attention for Deaf people while urging government at national, state and local levels to employ educationally qualified Deaf and provide funds for others who are into various businesses.

Ikotun/Igando L.C.D.A, The Sole administrator, Pastor Ojo Emmanuel represented by personal assistant, Pastor Omolabi Emmanuel urged IDDA to have patient with the administrator and urge the association to continue in their good works.

Healwood wellworth foundation represented by Stephen Anthony call for improved education for deaf Children while believing that education is more important for Deaf children in Nigeria.
