If You Think Blindness Made Me successful Go Get Blind, Rasak Adekoya tells critics

Meet Rasak Adekoya, the blind person with Disability who is the manager of his own group known as Inclusive Lagos has told critics, who think his blindness was instrumental to his success, to go blind and feel what it is like to be without sight, INN reports

In a facebook post shared on his page, Adekoya called out critics while recalling the many challenging experience he face as a result of been blind.

He says, “If you think my blindness has made me become a successful person, go get blind and let it make you become a success too. Blindness has not brought accidental success to me. I’ve severally fell. I’ve been numerously rejected. I’d gone through emotional pain. I’d one been lonely. I’d dated loneliness. Alone has once been my teacher. I’d attend solitary school of life.

I’d been hitted by run away driver. I’d stayed indoor for numerous months just because I lost my sight.”

“I’d once stood on the road like a statue because rain bit me and no one was there to assist. I’ve unknowingly hitted my head on the wall countless moment just because I cannot see. I’d been slapped by a lady who thought I was looking at her boobs.
If I continue to list all, I won’t stop… But despite all that had happened to me, I never gave up,” he explained

Adekoya said he believes in his dreams and also believe in his struggle. He said he became more resilient and worked effortlessly. “I seek for knowledge and skills all the time. I continuously network by attending all sort of events. I seek for mentorship. It wasn’t easy at the beginning. But I was consistent in my deed and change strategy where my effort is not yielding result. I never came to your church or mosque to beg. I never came to your dad or mum to ask for alms.
You saw me when I was jumping from bike to public bus and you never ever said blindness placed that suffering and retardation on me”, he retorted

He challenged his critics by asking rhetorically,  “so, why tongue wagging that blindness gave me opportunity to be flying from one country to another? Why do you think my blindness gave me fame?”

“If you don’t know my past, go to Eagle Cable TV along Agindingbi RD, Ikeja to go ask how I started as a TV presenter at age 17. Go do investigative journalism to know how my parent, three siblings and I stayed in one room apartment. I was not born with silver spoon. I only created the future I wanted for myself. Whatever I am today, God has only favoured my labour not my complain. Again, if you think blindness made me rise, try to become blind too, even if it is for a month.”

“A word is enough for the wise.”, He admonished
