FAECARE foundation, in it’s efforts to reduce inequalities and advance the rights of Persons with Disabilities in Rivers State, carried out a series of courtesy visits to National Orientation Agency (NOA), Rivers State Office.
The visit is part of the foundation’s Disability Rights Initiative Project.
A team of Disability Rights Advocates from FAECARE in two successful outings, engaged the leadership of the agency.
The event which took place at the NOA, Rivers State office in Port Harcourt, had in attendance all Local Government coordinators, the deputy director and the director, Mr Young Ayo Tamuno as well as the FAECARE team.
Both Advocacy engagements saw the opportunity to sensitize the agency on Disability Rights, the statutory laws and provisions as well as the role of the agency in promoting and protecting the rights of Persons with Disabilities in Rivers State.
The group also presented different advocacy materials to NOA to aid awareness creation and the education of the society at large was also done.
Bar. Young Ayo Tamuno, while receiving the materials thanked the group for the unwavering passion for social inclusion, promoting and advancing Disability Rights in the state.
He pledged the Agency’s unflinching and unwavering support and directed all local Government Coordinators to join in the advocacy.
