The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) has distributed 1,000 bags of 10kg rice donated by the Aliko Dangote Foundation to persons with disabilities (PWDs), disability groups, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), disability homes, and civil servants with disabilities across the state.
The distribution exercise, which took place at LASODA’s office, is part of the Lagos State Government’s continued efforts to support the welfare, inclusion, and well-being of persons with disabilities. The initiative was designed to provide relief and improve the living conditions of beneficiaries, particularly amid prevailing economic challenges.
According to LASODA, the rice was shared among various disability clusters, NGOs, disability homes, and public servants with disabilities to ensure equitable access and broad coverage within the disability community in Lagos State.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and LASODA for the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. They noted that the gesture would provide much-needed support to vulnerable households and strengthen social inclusion efforts.
The agency stated that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities and building a society where everyone enjoys equal opportunities and support.
The distribution exercise was conducted smoothly, with beneficiaries receiving their allocations in an orderly manner, further demonstrating LASODA’s dedication to promoting dignity, inclusion, and social protection for persons with disabilities in Lagos State.
