The Bauchi State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim, has pledged to facilitate permanent and pensionable appointments for casual staff supporting students with special needs in schools across the state.
The Commissioner made the commitment while receiving outstanding students of the Special Education Centre (SEC), Yelwa, who paid him a courtesy visit following their victory at the national Girls in ICT Competition. The students visited to express appreciation for the support and encouragement they received from the Ministry of Education.
Speaking during the reception, Ibrahim described the students’ achievement as a remarkable milestone for Bauchi State, noting that their success reflects the impact of the government’s commitment to inclusive education. He praised the students for excelling despite challenges associated with visual and hearing impairments.
“You have made Bauchi State proud. Your achievement demonstrates that our investment in education is producing positive results and that students with special needs can compete and excel at the highest levels,” he said.
The Commissioner also acknowledged the contributions of casual staff who provide essential support to students with special needs, assuring them that efforts would be made to secure permanent and pensionable appointments for qualified personnel.
He further commended Zee Tech for its role in supporting the students and contributing to their success at the competition.
As part of the visit, the students presented their awards and gifts to the Commissioner in appreciation of the ministry’s support. The event underscored Bauchi State’s commitment to promoting inclusive education and empowering students with special needs to achieve academic and technological excellence.
