The Sokoto State Governor, Rt. Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has released a huge amount of money for monthly disbursements to PWDs across the State for the next 3 months.
The welcome news was disclosed by Hon. Abdul Azeez Ibrahim, Special Adviser (SA) to the Governor on Special Needs while distributing the payments as urged upon his functional office.
According to Ibrahim, beneficiaries include lepers, the deaf, the blind, polio survivors, persons with spinal cord injuries, albinos, amongst others.

Ibrahim called on beneficiaries to make good use of the money by investing it to enable them take care of themselves, and their families instead of engaging in street begging which is islamically unlawful.
While addressing the press, the Honourable S.A remarked that a huge number of these people (PWDs) were recruited into various government programs and activities so they can profit.
He thanked Almighty Allah and the Governor for his love and kindness towards persons with special needs in the State.
The grateful beneficiaries thanked the Governor and his S.A for their tireless efforts in putting smiles on the faces of PWDs.
