The newly appointed Special Assistant to the Zamfara State Governor on Sign Language Interpretation, Ibrahim Sani, has expressed profound appreciation to Governor Dauda Lawal for appointing him to the position, pledging to advance inclusivity and improve communication access for deaf persons across the state.
In an appreciation message issued following his appointment, Sani described the opportunity to serve as a reflection of Governor Lawal’s commitment to building an inclusive government where no one is left behind. He also prayed for Allah’s continued guidance and strength for the governor as he leads Zamfara State.
Sani extended special appreciation to the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mouktar Lugga Wamban Maru, for his support in facilitating the appointment. He also thanked his family, mentors, colleagues, friends, the Zamfara State Persons with Disabilities Board, the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), the disability community, educational institutions, community leaders, civil society organisations, media professionals, social media influencers, and all individuals who celebrated, supported, and prayed for him following his appointment. He noted that their encouragement and goodwill had been instrumental to his journey.
The governor’s aide appealed for continued prayers, support, and constructive advice as he begins his new responsibility. He pledged to discharge his duties with diligence, promote disability inclusion, ensure deaf persons have greater access to government information and programmes, and justify the confidence reposed in him by the Zamfara State Government.
