The Nasarawa State Association of Persons with Albinism, NAPWA, is calling on the general public, government, institutions and civil society organizations to assist a couple of its members who urgently need treatment for fast deteriorating cases of skin cancer.
Chairman of the association, John Ronaldo Maigwa who spoke to our correspondent disclosed that the members, Mr Godsave Madaki Dauda and Mr. Bashiru Wahab, both from Akwanga, Nasarawa State, have endured the ordeal for the past eight months without any help despite several calls to the Government, NGOs and the media.
Maigwa reiterates: “We never got any help. It’s over eight months since these brothers have been enduring the pains. The State Government promised to assist but nothing has turned out so far.
“I am currently trying to get The Albino Foundation, TAF, as well as the Nasarawa State Ministry of Health involved”.
Maigwa pleaded for assistance for the two members, who, according to him, would die if they fail to get immediate attention. Donations, he said are welcome from people of good will.
Our correspondent got video recording and photos of the terrible condition of the skin cancer sufferers.
