The Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Mohammed Abba Isa, has urged Yobe State to prioritize inclusion and access to quality healthcare for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Speaking during a transformative two-day advocacy visit to Yobe, Abba Isa emphasized the need for inclusive healthcare systems.
Key highlights included engagements with the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, on finalizing the State Disability Law and strategic discussions with Health Commissioner Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana on healthcare reforms for PWDs. Traditional rulers and lawmakers were also engaged to promote disability-friendly policies and align state laws with federal and global standards.
The visit concluded with a symposium uniting stakeholders to discuss dismantling barriers faced by PWDs. Hon. Abba Isa reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to equitable healthcare for all Nigerians and commended partners for advancing the cause of inclusion in healthcare delivery.
