Ogun State chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, (JONAPWD) has sworn in a set of newly elected State Executive members of the Association at an inaugural ceremony.
The ceremony took place at Fati Lami Recreation Centre for Persons with Disabilities, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State. There was also a get together party of past executives who mingled with the newly elected executives.
The State chairman of the Association, Dr Michael Ebohor says the ceremony was intended to make for a proper handover by the outgoing administration to the new one. It should also inspire the newly elected officers to swing into action as mandated by the constitution.
In goodwill messages from representatives of the Ogun State Ministries, INEC, NGOs, etc, the newly inaugurated members were urged to take their responsibilities as service to humanity and duty to Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
Included in the event was a health lecture, free medical tests and free drugs for Persons with Disabilities.
The newly inaugurated officers were elected on 16th July, 2022. They have a 4 year tenure to pilot affairs of the Association.
