A Non Governmental Organization under the aegis of “Dandalin Matasa Initiative for Rapid Development”, with aid from Victims Support Fund (VSF) has carried out an extensive food items distribution exercise in some parts of Balanga/Billiri Local Government Areas of Gombe State.
The Chief Executive Officer/founder of the NGO, Mr. Bachama Yusuf, in a statement personally signed by him, said: “the food stuff distribution exercise carried out by the organization in collaboration with VSF was meant to cushion the crushing effect of covid 19 pandemic among the most affected communities in the target demographic.
“A total of 2,500 most vulnerable citizens, including widows, orphans and disabled across 250 households are expected to benefit from the food items distribution in response to the impact of the Covid 19 Pandemic that affected economies of nations, states, communities, households, and individuals all over the world since 2022.
“Food items distributed during the exercise include rice, beans, maize, vegetable oil and salt”, he added.
The distribution, INN learnt, took place between and among seven local communities namely: Gelengu, Swa, Talasse, Dala-waja, Tal, Todi, and Tanglang communities of Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency, Gombe State, North-East Nigeria.
