The National Commission for Persons With Disabilities in partnership with World Bank organized a one-day Workshop recently in Abuja to sensitize the staff of the Commission on the need to prioritize Capacity Building interventions for better performance by 2024.

The Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Mr James David Lalu while addressing the participants, highlighted key components that influence organizational performance and growth.

“I want to call on the Heads of Departments and Units to give their subordinates the chance to contribute meaningfully in official programmes, plannings and executions in order to have a holistic outcome at every event”, he said.

The Executive Secretary further stated that new ideas are central to development and as such all hands must be on deck in order to open up new ideas and innovations for laudable results.

He also made reference to the academia where knowledge knows no bounds. “It is interesting to note that the learning environment still has some gaps which the actors strive to continuously bridge.

However, the World bank Technical Assistant to the Commission, Dr. Adebukola Adebayo, earlier in his speech appreciated the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) members for converging to design a framework that will serve as a guide for the Commission’s policy implementation.

He equally hinted that the Workshop is an aftermath of the Needs Assessment conducted by the Development Partnership and Programmes Unit of the Commission (DPPU).

“Today we are gathered here to review the Documents and validate it for proper planning on Capacity building interventions and development for the year 2024”, he said.

Adebukola restated that the Document will envisage the overall plans and execution of capacity building in order of importance to each staff in every Department and Unit as 2024 is in focus.
