Lois Auta, National Coordinator, APC Women with Disabilities Forum (APC WWDF) has been officially honoured by the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The honour was given during a “training the trainers” workshop organized by the party’s Presidential Campaign Council through the Election Planning and Monitoring Committee.
Auta was on the occasion presented with a certificate of participation by the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in recognition of her efforts in mobilization of Persons with Disabilities for the party at grassroots levels in the North.
She was also acknowledged her initiative towards ensuring Persons with Disabilities, especially women with disabilities are included in the party.
The event which took place at Rainbow Marqee Centre, Abuja on Monday, January 16th had thousands of participants trained as party agents for the forthcoming elections.
Speaking to Inclusive News Network, Auta, a former aspirant for the legislative seat of the Kaduna State House of Assembly (Kaura constituency) was full of appreciation and praise for the All Progressive Congress and fellow party members who contributed to making the honour possible.
Her words: “I am very grateful to God, to the APC National Chairman and to Members of the National Working Committee. I also deeply appreciate the Honourable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen for her kindness to me.
“My heart of gratitude also goes out to Hon. Stella Okotete, The Executive Director, Business Development, NEXIM Bank and Secretary of the APC Presidential Campaign Council under Election Planning and Monitoring for ensuring that women with disabilities are carried along in the party. The powerful APC National Women Leader, Dr. Betta Edu is amazing in all her ways.
“She is a disability champion and excellent leader. Thank you for being our voice in the party. Because of you we have the first support group led by women with disabilities.”
Auta specially appreciated Dr. Asabe Vilita Bashir, Director General, Centre for Women Development and Director for Women, APC Women Presidential Campaign Team, she said “I am grateful to all of them for their support. These four great women are my backbone in the party. I love you and I remain thankful to you forever.”
She also said “Women with disabilities are ready to vote for APC Presidential Candidate, Senator Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”
INN reports that Lois Auta, a visionary politician, had in 2021, founded the APC Women with Disabilities Forum – a first of its kind support group within the APC for inclusion of women with disabilities in politics as the race to the 2023 elections gained momentum.
