Lois Auta, the newly appointed Deputy Director for Women with Disabilities in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council 2027, has pledged to strengthen the representation, mobilisation and empowerment of women with disabilities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Auta made the pledge while expressing appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda and other party leaders, colleagues and supporters for her appointment and the congratulatory messages she received.

She described the appointment as more than a personal achievement, saying it represents recognition of the contributions, voices and value of women with disabilities in national development and political participation.

According to her, she remains committed to ensuring that women with disabilities are actively included in the activities of the campaign council, adequately represented and given opportunities to contribute meaningfully to the party’s political engagements.

Auta also pledged to work towards the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside other APC candidates, in the 2027 elections.

She expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in her by the party’s leadership, assuring supporters that she would approach the responsibility with dedication and a commitment to inclusive participation.

The appointment is expected to provide an opportunity to advance the visibility and participation of women with disabilities within the party’s campaign structure as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.

Inclusive News Network reports that meaningful disability inclusion in political campaigns requires more than appointments, including accessible campaign activities, adequate representation and opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in decision-making processes.
