The Lions Club Districts 404 B2 has redefined its commitments by putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged, orphans, widows, the elderly and persons with disabilities to mark the club’s 2022/2023 end-of-the-year programme.
The event was held on the 17th, of June 2023, at the MRC auditorium, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital ( LASUTH) in Lagos, where dignitaries and members come out in their numbers to show love and support to the less privileged living in our society. This activity is to mark the organization’s successful end-of-the-year activities, as well as make it a wonderful and memorable experience for all participants.
The chairperson, Lion Matilda Braimoh in her opening speech expressed joy and gratitude, saying that ” the significant and important of reaching out to the less privilege is some time, we all must do to elevate their suffering and ensure no one is left behind because everyone is important regardless of the status in the society”. She also appreciates all member for their contribution and supports to ensure the successful outcome of the programs.
The District Governor, Lion Aare lekan Owolabi, while addressing the audience, says that ” there is a need for constant reflection to address the immediate needs of certain categories of person among us, who are desperately in need of help and as lions, we must ensure such needs are met”. He also uses the opportunity to appreciate all members and also solicit more membership from the public, who are willing to join the organisations, because they are more to be done to touch lives.
The high point of the event was minding blowing performances from the various group of widows, orphans, elderly people and persons with disabilities, which includes, dancing, singing, quiz, choreography and lots of stage play. And also the presentation of gift items, which include foodstuff, books, TV sets, water dispensers and lots more to mark the end of the Lions Cub calendar year.
Lions Club is well known across the world for its humanitarian services. All the beneficiaries of the day show appreciation and pray for more successful and prosperous years for the club.
