James Lalu Pays Surprise Visit To Yangoji Leprosy Colony

by Inclusive News Network

The Executive Secretary of National Commission For Persons with Disabilities, James D Lalu, paid an unexpected site visit to the Yangoji Leprosy colony along Abaji Road.

The impromptu inspection was aimed at overseeing the progress of the construction of a 42-capacity accessible restroom facility, a key initiative under the Commission’s 2023 Special Intervention project.

During the visit, Dr. Lalu demonstrated his unwavering commitment to inclusivity by ensuring that the restroom entrance must be wheelchair accessible.

He said, “I believe in leading by example, and today’s visit reaffirms our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. Our goal is to create spaces where everyone, regardless of ability, can access essential facilities with ease.”

INN reports that the construction of the accessible restroom facility, initiated on November 18, 2023, under Dr. Lalu’s leadership, has reached 99% completion rate.
