International Disability Day: Governor Inuwa Yahaya Celebrate IDD with PLWDs

The Gombe State Governor Alh. Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya joined PWDs on 3rd, December 2019 to celebrate their “International Day of Persons With Disabilities” at Gombe State Government House.

Speaking, the Governor assured persons with disabilities that his administration had already resolved to create an agency for persons with disabilities to address their challenges and welfare.

“I want to assure you that the government is with you come rain come shine. One of the manifesto of our party the APC is to ensure that everyone is carried along and no one is left behind. That’s why our party has APC disabled leaders in every ward. We are willing to support you in all ramifications”.

“Our Government will very soon send a bill to the State House of Assembly to seek for the establishment of an agency for the disabled to cater for your welfare and support your endeavors” The Governor said.

Meanwhile the Chairman of the Gombe state Joint National Associations of Persons with Disabilities, Umar Ali Goro appreciated Governor Inuwa for his show of love and compassion for the disabled describing their meeting with the Governor as unprecedented in the history of the state.

He pleaded for the establishment for more skills acquisition centres across the three senatorial zones of the state and to grant them and their children free education, employment and empowerment to maximize their potential.
