Deaf Women Aloud Initiative (DWAI) has called on Taraba State Primary HealthCare Agency (TSPHCA) to create special centers with necessary equipments and provisions deployed for the service of Deaf women and girls in Taraba State.
The Initiative also spoke on the need for inclusion and reasonable accommodation provision for accessible Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights for Deaf Women and Girls.
Hellen Beyioku-Alase, Executive Director, presented these issues to the Executive secretary of TSPHCA on how best to pave way for Deaf Women to access healthcare services in the State.
The Executive Secretary of TSPHCA Dr. Tukura N. Nyigwa assured of the agency’s commitment to address and work towards the recommendation presented by DWAI.
INN reports that DWAI had earlier paid advocacy visits to ministries of health, Women affairs, social development, Christian Association of Nigeria, Islamic council and some other stakeholders.
Highpoint of the meeting was the presentation of policy briefs to the Executive secretary by the DWAI Executive Director.
