The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, on Tuesday presented an ultra-modern electronic wheelchair to the Special Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), North Central Zone, Mr. David Aondofa, as part of efforts to support his mobility and strengthen inclusive leadership within the party.
The presentation was held at the Benue State Government House in Makurdi, where the governor was represented by his Principal Private Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Chenge.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Chenge said the donation reflects Governor Alia’s commitment to inclusiveness, welfare, and support for individuals serving in key leadership positions within the party structure. He explained that the electronic wheelchair would ease Mr. Aondofa’s movement and enable him to carry out his responsibilities more effectively across the North Central region.
According to him, the Benue State governor remains committed to advancing policies and interventions that improve the wellbeing of citizens, particularly persons with disabilities, while encouraging active participation in governance and political activities.
In his response, Mr. Aondofa expressed gratitude to Governor Alia for what he described as a thoughtful and timely gesture. He noted that the electronic wheelchair would significantly reduce the physical strain associated with using a manual wheelchair and greatly improve his mobility and productivity.
He also commended the governor for his compassionate and inclusive leadership style, describing the intervention as impactful and encouraging.
Mr. Aondofa, an entrepreneur involved in the production of shoes and other leather products, said the support would further enhance his ability to continue contributing to local enterprise development and political engagement.
