The Gombe State Government through the Head of Civil Service had assured Persons with Disabilities of fair and equal employment opportunities in Gombe State.
The Head of civil service Alh. Bappayo Yahaya said this when the Gombe state chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilitiess and cluster heads paid a courtesy visit to him in his office.
The secretary general of the Gombe State association of the Deaf who was among the cluster heads told INN that the courtesy visit was in response to the earlier letter of request forwarded to the head of civil service by GOMSAD secretary general, Yusuf Mohammed.
After due deliberations by various speakers, the head of civil service promised to personally explain the demand put before him to His Excellency, Gov. Inuwa Yahaya, assuring the delegates that he will look into the issue of employment challenge faced by PWDs in Gombe State
It was resolved that all PWDs that have qualifications for employment should forward his/her credentials to JONAPWD chairman through their respective cluster association for onward submission to the office of head of civil service.
