The Ghana Federation of Disability Organisation (GFD) has threatened to sue dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale for his recent mockery of Stonebwoy’s disability, INN reports from source
The group is threatening to sue the “Freedom” hit-maker for calling Stonebwoy a disabled person on his Facebook page and also referring to Stonebwoy as a “cripple” in his song ‘No Mercy for the Cripple’.
INN gathered that In an interview on an Accra-based radio station, Adom FM, the President of the federation, Yaw Ofori-Debrah said if Shatta Wale failed to render an unqualified apology to disabled persons, they would take legal action against him.
“We see it as an insult on all of us and as such, we are going to use article 191 of the Disability Act to file a case against him”, he said.
He noted that their first step to this action would be by writing a letter of caution to Shatta Wale to apologise to them.
INN further learnt that Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale, who have both been signed on to the Zylofon Music record label have been at each other’s throat of late, amidst name calling.
In one of his posts, Shatta Wale called Stonebwoy a “cripple” in response to a video in which Stonebwoy had said he was lyrically better than him.
“See villager with pride..one leg cripple who doesn’t pity himself..so Ghana you call this humble and respect ..apakye nyansani ..ur sheda like my new watchman waiting on his first nite to collaborate with my area mosquitoes.. You don’t understand entertainment go into your begging business…the most foolish and senseless cripple ever…humble my foot. Fucker dat !!” he had posted.
He also did a song titled ‘No Mercy for the Cripple’ to ridicule Stonebwoy.
Matter came to a head when people asked him to apologise, he said he would not do that because Stonebwoy had also mocked at his ‘big’ mouth on Snapchat.
“If boy post for snap say my mouth big weh I say Ibe cripple what’s wrong with that.. Omyshitvoice ,look for your facts well before taking those ur foolish and comic poor shirt videos …nkwasiasem kwaa woe Ghana.”, he said in defiance.
Stonebwoy, some years ago, had an accident which rendered him lame. Even after a successful surgery, the ‘My Name’ singer still limps, INN learnt
While some see the matter of name calling between the two acts as unfortunate, others think it is part of show business.
