Federal College of Education (special) Oyo was on fire this morning as students caused pandemonium and embarked on destruction of school-owned clinic and library.
The situation occurred this morning after a 100 Level student was said to have been delayed from receiving treatment at the school clinic because she did not come along with her clinic identity card.
According to a source, the student died while waiting for her identity card.
Students have since been on rampage; many lecturers and a number of staff were beaten to coma, and huge amount of properties, including the college’s clinic and library vandalized following what many students perceived as inhumane incident. Some lecturers and students had flee for their lives.
The school management, according to a source, has not yet responded to the situation yet. Some students were on their final year examinations before the event, and must now be made to continue with the examination on yet unknown date.
Prior to the today’s event, a staggering number of students have been expressing their grievances about the inhumane and lackadaisical attitudes towards them by the college clinic’s staffs; and this was not the first time such incident would occur.
