The Ekiti State Government, led by Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has reiterated its dedication to ensuring quality education for children with disabilities.
Hon. Olawumi Famuyiwa, Director-General of the Bureau of Civic Orientation and Citizenship, emphasized this commitment during a one-day training for leaders of social inclusion and disability-focused NGOs.
Famuyiwa lauded the governor’s strategic efforts to support children with special needs and encouraged participants to maintain high standards in advocacy and service.
She highlighted the Omoluabi values—integrity, self-reliance, and diligence—as essential principles for fostering growth in Ekiti State and countering the prevalent “get rich quick” mentality.
Special Adviser on Special Education, Mrs. Adetoun Agboola, acknowledged Governor Oyebanji’s impactful initiatives, including the recruitment of specialized teachers and caregivers, monthly stipends for severely disabled children, and free healthcare for all individuals with disabilities.
Mr. Oni Femi, Secretary of JONAPWDs in Ekiti, also praised the governor’s efforts and urged continued focus on improving the quality of life for the disabled community in Ekiti.
