The Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), Chief Ayuba Burki Gufwan, has congratulated the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, on his birthday, describing him as a committed ally in the advancement of the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities in Nigeria.
In a goodwill message, Gufwan recalled the strong working relationship he developed with Prof. Yilwatda during his tenure as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, the ministry under which the NCPWD operates.
He noted that during his tenure, Yilwatda played a significant role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for persons with disabilities, particularly through initiatives focused on inclusion, accessibility and economic empowerment.
According to Gufwan, the former minister’s deliberate policies, commitment and hands-on approach contributed to strengthening the capacity of the Commission to better serve persons with disabilities, particularly vulnerable members of the community.
The NCPWD boss further described Yilwatda as a dependable partner and sincere advocate for disability inclusion, expressing appreciation for his consistent support for the Commission and the disability community both in his official capacity and through personal engagements.
While wishing the APC National Chairman continued success in his service to the nation, Gufwan prayed for divine wisdom, renewed strength and good health as he marks another year.
He expressed optimism that Yilwatda’s leadership of the APC would continue to promote national unity, inclusive governance and progressive development for the benefit of all Nigerians.
