Aondofa Unveils Skills Centre to Empower Persons with Disabilities in North Central

by Inclusive News Network

Hon. David Aondofa, APC Special Leader, North Central Zone, is set to officially launch the Fr. Alia Special Needs Skills Acquisition Centre, a landmark initiative aimed at promoting inclusion and empowering persons with disabilities in Benue State and beyond.

The centre, inspired by the visionary leadership of Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia, is designed to provide practical vocational training and economic opportunities for persons with special needs, enabling them to become self-reliant and financially productive.

The initiative reflects Hon. David Aondofa’s commitment to humanitarian service, social inclusion, and youth empowerment. Through the centre, beneficiaries will receive training in various vocational and entrepreneurial skills including ICT, tailoring, fashion design, catering, barbing, soap making, welding, and other modern trades capable of supporting sustainable livelihoods.

Speaking ahead of the launch, supporters described the project as a bold step toward restoring dignity, confidence, and hope among persons with disabilities while creating opportunities for them to contribute meaningfully to society.

They noted that the Fr. Alia Special Needs Skills Acquisition Centre would serve as a beacon of hope for vulnerable families and a model for inclusive development in Nigeria. The project also aligns with Governor Alia’s administration’s commitment to ensuring that no citizen is left behind in the state’s development agenda.

Political stakeholders, community leaders, APC faithful, youth groups, and disability advocacy organisations are expected to attend the historic launch event as Hon. David Aondofa continues to champion initiatives aimed at improving lives across the North Central region.

Observers say the establishment of the centre marks another significant milestone in the collective effort to empower the less privileged, reduce dependency, and build a society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive regardless of physical limitations.
