Blue Baby Support Initiative, an NGO, has donated essential items to children with special needs in Eleyere, Ibadan, Oyo state.
The founder, Aisha Dania Ogieriakhi in a self-signed statement said “Our visit to Network for Inclusion of People with Special Needs (NIPSN) on Friday was another exciting and refreshing moment. As an organization, we continue to stand in the gap for an Inclusive Society.
“Most special needs children in Africa are been neglected and considered a curse to their family – all due to their “different abilities”.

“We ought to stop wallowing in ignorance. Narratives are changing and we need to adapt our views and approach to special needs in line with these changing narratives. This is to ensure our “differently abled” children grow up to make impact for sustainable development at community and national levels. Hence, there’s the need for Government, NGOs and public spirited individuals to commit to the cause of special children. They are urged to focus more on these vulnerable kidswith the aim of empowering them to grow up to self sufficient and productive.
“Indeed there’s ability in every disability.” She emphasized.
Items donated by the NGO included bottled water, clothing, toys, instant noodles, among others.
