Abba Isa, the spinal cord injury survivor based in Damaturu in Yobe state, has been given an award of excellence as youth ambassador in recognition of his efforts towards the course of people with disabilities, INN reports.
The award was give by Zudam Entertainment organization that empower youth to be self reliance. Isa felt fulfilled as he took to his facebook page to announce his selection and decoration for the award
Isa believes that by been recognised for the award, another significant stage has been added to his success.
Unable to contain his joy about the award, Isa says, “Alhamdullahi, to Almighty Allah SWA for making me among the 3 humanitarian activist that uplifted our teeming youth beyond boundaries shortlisted for an award of excellence as Youth Ambassador by Zudam Entertainment organization that empower youth to be self reliance”.
He said the award was in view of his outstanding contributions in development work and his capacity, commitment of influencing of young people that will be potentials leaders tomorrow. Isa said that as a young Disability rights activist, he was able to champion the course and changing the narratives of societal difference, attitudinal, physical barriers in seeing disabilities from charity approach to human rights perspectives best on global practices.
“I inspired and influenced many young people in the country through series of social gathering, Advocacy strategy, national issues and equal rights to political participation’, he said
While expressing his gratitude, he dedicated the award to the victims of insurgency in the north east as symbol of peace restored in the North East.
“I must also extend my gratitude to Executive Director of Zudam Entertainment, Mai Goje Foundation, invited guest, our indigenous vendors that showcase their skills in entrepreneurship and everyone that honored my invitation to celebrate with me on this award”
Isah further said the prestigious award was presented to him by Mallam Zubairu Malah a lecturer to the Yobe State University Damaturu.
“May Allah SWT guide us and protect us. May Allah reward you abundantly for your kindness and support. Amin”, he said concludingly.
