The mentally challenged chairman, Itire-Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, in commemoration of his birthday which comes up tomorrow Saturday, 17th April, yesterday donated food items and cash to children with disabilities in select special schools within the LGA.
Olanrewaju also promised monthly donation of food items for the special needs children.
In a statement issued on Thursday via social media, Apatira said “It’s a golden opportunity today celebrating my approaching birthday with the less privileged and the physical and mentally challenged. We also donated medical equipment to Airways PHC.
“Earlier today I visited The Wesley School for the Hearing Impaired, Surulere, Lagos, and food items were donated to the children.
“I also visited Atunde-olu School for the Physically & Mentally Challenged Children, Adanu Orisa Street, Off Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere Lagos. Food Items were also presented to the Children.
I felt much compassion seeing and hearing about these Children.
“I am adding some cash to support the items and promise monthly food items for them, In sha allah”.
