Dr. Adiakpan bags award in recognition of her selfless dedication to humanity and exceptional colossal heroine. The award was presented to her by organization of persons with disability (OPD), Advocacy for Persons with Albinism Network.
The presentation of the award was done on 14 June, 2022 during their visit to the office of the Honourable Commissioner@ the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Idongesit Nkanga secretariat, Uyo.
In responding to the award, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare Dr. Ini Adiakpan, expressed joy for the noble recognition and congratulated them on the success of their event, the 2022 International Albinism Awareness Day which was celebrated in the state on 13th June 2022.
She urged them to keep to the rules and guidelines stipulated to them by the experts as they have to live by the condition.
The Commissioner while lauding the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and his dear wife, Dr. Mrs Martha Udom Emmanuel for their interest in the wellbeing of persons with disabilities, she declared that the State Government is passionate about the welfare of people with albinism and would continue to evolve programs to protect them.
On her part, Mrs Bassey while presenting the award ceased the moment to express appreciation to the Honourable Commissioner for her continous support towards the clusters and her efforts in making their program a success.
