Tai Oderinde-Abeleshindogba, a Nigerian based in Liverpool, UK, has promised support for special needs students and the less privileged.
The Nigerian diaspora recently visited an adopted son at a school for special needs children in Ijebu L.G.A, Ogun State Nigeria.
Speaking on how he came about the school, he said, “My sister Taiwo Olusesi ( Registrar, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria) introduced me to this school few months ago and I must admit, it’s the best introduction so far.
“I have an unofficially adopted son here. His name is Tijani (TJ). I couldn’t visit the school when I visited the country in January, however I vowed to make it over on my next visit.

The opportunity is now here and I am so happy to be led to make good the promise to the school. I was led here by my sister who happens to be one of the biggest supporters of the school, ensuring the wellbeing of some 300+ students and their teachers.
“While being led on tour of the school by the headteacher and his deputy, we deliberated on how to get things done (since the State Government wasn’t forthcoming as expected).”
Tai, who is also a board member of the Blue Baby Support Initiative declared readiness to adopt the school as a pet project because, according to him, “the 300+ students and their teachers must be well looked after”.
The philanthropist also promised to create a Gofund-me at one point and invite some friends to support the project.
