The Ekiti Government has awarded Mr. Ayodimeji Oni, a Person with Disability, for his diligence and professionalism in public service.
The awardee received the award on Thursday June 25 at the Ekiti State Government Complex during the “Head of Service Awards” organised to celebrate outstanding performances of civil servants who did excellently well in their Ministries, Agencies and Departments.

Celebrating Oni, a person with autism and board of trustee of Disability Not A Barrier Initiative, Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Disability matters, Mr. Tunde Ogunrinde congratulated him for the well deserved award. He said he is proud of Mr. Oni’s achievement.
Ogunrinde also had words of motivation for all Persons with Disabilities. He urged them to emulate the example set by Mr. Oni. His words, “To all PWDs, there is nothing you cannot accomplish in life if you are determined and focused. Believe in yourself and work towards your goals. You will get there.”
Joining in congratulating Oni on the development was the Executive Director of Disability Not A Barrier Initiative (DINABI), Mr Olajide Funso Benjamin.
According to him, “we were not surprised Mr Ayodimeji got the award because nobody could dispute his hard work, resilience, honesty, integrity and godliness.”
He told INN that “Mr Oni had proven time and again that disability is not actually a barrier to achieving greatness in life.”
Olajide called on state government to employ more PWDs into the civil service to reap the reward of integrity and hard work like Mr Ayodimeji Oni.
