Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has appointed Mallam Tasiu Shehu Garko as the new Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Disabled Matter.
Garko replaces Hon. Adnan Aliyu, who occupied the position earlier.
INN learnt that the reason behind the change was that Aliyu, the outgoing SSA, had not done well in the development of disability community since his appointment in first term.
This led to some group of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to protest against his reappointment as SSA on Disabled Matters for a second term in office.
INN gathered that Ganduje got wind of the protest from the community of PWDs and perhaps decided to act on their demands by replacing Aliyu with Garko as his new aide.
Garko is also a PWD.
