The Bauchi State Agency for Persons with Disabilities has commenced repair assessment tour of the six Emirates Council Rehabilitation Centers within its jurisdiction, even as it promised to renovate them soonest.
This information was disclosed by our correspondent who was part of the inspecting team when chairman of the agency, Ibrahim Mohammed visited Katagum local government rehabilitation centre, Bauchi.
Mohammed remarked that the State Governor had performed extremely well by reviving the agency for Persons with Disabilities in order to enable disabled persons across the State have access to his administration’s intervention.
According to him, the centers will be equipped with facilities for providing efficient treatment for people with disabilities. There will be light weight auxiliaries and appliances for ease of use by these persons.
Other services to be delivered by the rehab centers include special training, education and vocational skills to help build confidence among Persons with Disabilities.
“The governor is taking strides to renovate the special schools in the shortest time possible”, Mohammed reassured.
