A Deaf political group in Gombe State, under the aegis of “Gombe State Deaf LP Supporters Forum” has begun mobilizing young Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to come out en masse to support the presidential ambitions of Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State.
Obi is the increasingly popular Labour Party Presidential candidate for the forthcoming 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
Chairman of the Forum, Abdullahi Adamu told our reporter that his group was thrilled at the emergence of Peter Obi as one of the Presidential aspirants for coming election in the country.
He noted that his group’s choice of Obi ahead of other northern candidates was informed by his (Obi’s) longstanding relationship with PWDs.
According to him, Obi’s reputation as someone with the interest of PWDs at heart stood him out among other aspirants, who, he believes lack feelings for PWDs.
He further stressed that Peter Obi has for long been a friend of PWDs having over the years supported them to achieve social, economic, political and educational ambitions.
Commenting on the opposition, Abdullahi remarked: “we are tired of PDP/APC’s deceptive politics which has crippled the country’s economy and resulted in widespread poverty, hunger, disunity and worsening security situation of the nation”
“Nigerians and Nigeria need a well-bred revolutionary leader to bring the nation back on track. This revolutionary leader is none other than Peter Obi”, he added
Adamu urged patriotic Nigerians to put on their thinking cap in order to make informed decisions during the election.
” l call on all patriotic Nigerians to unite and choose the man with a vision to salvage the country from imminent collapse. It’s high time for us to look beyond party differences and come together to make a patriotic choice for the betterment of our country”, he said.
