Two hundred Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Gwandu Local Government Area of Kebbi State are set to benefit from a cash empowerment programme designed to strengthen their economic wellbeing and promote greater inclusion.
The initiative was disclosed during a meeting with leaders of various disability clusters in Gwandu Local Government, led by the Chairman of the Kebbi State Commission for Persons with Disabilities and Coordinator of the Persons with Disabilities City Boy Movement in the state, Hon. Anas Malami Gwandu.
The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on issues affecting persons with disabilities and explore ways of strengthening collaboration to improve their socio-economic participation, empowerment and involvement in governance.
The PWD community in Gwandu also reaffirmed its support for the inclusive governance agenda of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the administration of the Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, popularly known as Kaura of Gwandu.
The disability community expressed appreciation for ongoing efforts by both administrations toward promoting the inclusion, empowerment and welfare of persons with disabilities in Kebbi State, while pledging continued support for initiatives that advance their participation in development.
