Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi State has promised free education for Persons with Disabilities in the State.
The Rector, Dr. Adamu Sa’idu made the assurance during a courtesy visit to his office by a team of delegates from the Bauchi State Agency for Persons with Disabilities. The delegation was led by Executive Chairman of the agency, Hon Ibrahim Muhammed (Kauran Kuramen Bauchi).
Dr. Sa’idu assured of the Polytechnic’s readiness to sponsor Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the State who are interested in studying in the polytechnic. The sponsorship covers school fee and accommodation.
In his response, the chairman of the Agency, Hon. Muhammed thanked the State Government and the institution’s head for adopting best practices to ensure that people with disabilities in the State are not academically shortchanged.
He urged Persons with Disabilities in the State nursing ambitions of further education to, as a matter of urgency, get all necessary requirements ready to gain admission into the polytechnic.
It may be recalled that back in 2018, Inclusive News Network, INN had reported the rector’s promise of free education for PWDs in the institution. That promise has been kept till date.
