The Plateau State Government has appointed Kyennan Mizim as new Chairperson of the State’s Disability Commission.
Mizim, who hails from Pankshin LGA of the State is a renowned female disability rights advocate and founder of Unique Women with Disabilities, (UWD) an NGO devoted to the cause of women with disabilities. She’s also the North Central Coordinator of Network of Disabled Women, NDW
As a Person with Disability (on wheelchair), Kyennan was a pioneer board member of the Plateau State Disability Commission chaired by Mr. James Lalu, the current Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD).
Other members appointed by the Plateau State Government to work alongside Mizim are Mr. Seth Attah, Mr. Joshua Gyang, Mrs. Catherine Kyamwan and Mr. Deingmuk Musa Damasus
Meanwhile, Network of Disabled Women (NDW) and Inclusive Friends Association (IFA) has sent congratulatory messages to Mizim on her appointment.
In a statement shared on Social media, NDW boss, Lois Auta-Udonkanta congratulated Mizim on her appointment. She prayed for God’s guidance over her and wished her success as she takes on the new assignment.
IFA boss, Grace Jerry, also congratulated Mizim over her appointment and wished her a most successful tenure. “You can count on the support of Inclusive Friends Association” She assured
