ES NCPWD Tasks PWDs On COVID-19 Vaccination

The Executive Secretary National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) Mr. James Lalu has applauded president Muhammadu Buhari  for giving persons with Disabilities a common ground to dwell on. This was made known at the Arewa covid 19 vaccination and consultative meeting held on 25th May 2021 in kaduna.

This statement was disclosed through the Chief Press Secretary of National Commission for Persons With Disabilities, Dooshima Pius-Ikerave on Wednesday.

In his opening remarks, The Executive Secretary thanked Mr President for the signing into an Act, the Prohibition Against Persons with Disabilities Act 2018 and in furtherance the creation of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.

He welcomed all stakeholders to the forum put together by the Arewa PWDs to deliberate on how to strategically strengthen issues of Disabilities.

In the same vain, appreciated the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, for her motherly care and interventions so far in all her projects including the 20 thousand Naira funds transfer as well as other interventions that will be beneficial to PWDs.

Mr. Lalu encouraged PWDs to go out in their numbers and receive the vaccine and importantly stressed its preventive measures and shared his experience after taken the Vaccine for a week now with no side effects like headache or fever.

The forum was attended by Stakeholders in the Disability Community, leaders of different clusters, SA’s to President Muhammad Buhari, Council Members and Management of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
