Members of Kogi Central Disability Community are yet in celebration mood over the appointment of visually impaired reporter Abdulazeez Asadullah Ahmed and former cleaner, Peter Aliyu (deaf) as aides by the State Governor.
Ahmed and Aliyu were appointed as Media and Sanitation aides, respectively.
In a statement signed by the Association’s Treasurer, Comr. Yakubu Nazir Abdulhakeem, he congratulated Ahmed on his appointment as Special Adviser on Media to the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
Abdulhakeem, who spoke on behalf of the group, heaped praise on Ahmed, adding that his appointment will change people’s perspectives think PWDs in Kogi State, and beyond.
Yakubu continued: “with your wide experience on media, new direction policies will be accomplished and the disabled community in Kogi State will actualize the equity and justice I have been seeking for.
“As you blast off in your new post, let the thrills of new achievements excite you. You’re a magnet for success, after all. Your boundless dedication continues to open many doors for you. The prayer of Kogi State PWDs will be unlocking new opportunities where you can shine further.
“The State Governor will build a better future for both the ables and disabled community”, he concluded.
