Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment has announced the allocation of 5% (five percent) for those with “Special Needs” and 45% for women-owned businesses in the Federal Government’s MSMEs Survival Fund Scheme to cushion the effects of COVID-19 pandemic onp businesses.
The Minister, Amb. Mariam Katagum disclosed this after National Co-ordinator, Mrs. Anne Ugbo in company of National Disability Coordinator, Lois Auta-Udonkanta led a team from the Federation of Women Associations in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (FEDWIM) to brief the ministry of its programs and solicit support for its members across the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory on 22 April, 2021.
Katagum reiterated that the Federal Government is willing to support women-owned Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.
The minister also commented on other initiatives like the N50billion Export Expansion Facility Program (EEFP) on non-oil export businesses.
She encouraged women to apply for these incentives, urging associations to mobilize and sensitize their members about these opportunities.
