by Sejoro Ekundayo

Deaf Teachers Association of Nigeria, (DTAN) an umbrella body of registered deaf teachers in the country has called on Dana Air to give the Deaf and other persons with disabilities the kind satisfactory services due every other customer and not discriminate them. This charge is coming in the wake of controversial circumstances under which a Deaf Lawyer and Human right Activist, Mrs. Catherine Edeh Nnadi was stranded at the Lagos International airport as a Dana client.

The teachers group made the call in a press release by it’s assistant national secretary, Isa Mamman yesterday.

The statement read: “Despite being a distinguished person living with disability, she was stranded In Lagos and rather than do their duty, Dana Air’s customer service discriminated against Mrs. Edeh Nnadi”. We, Deaf Teachers of Nigeria are joining her In solidarity to protest this unfair treatment.

“Furthermore, this isn’t the first time an incident like this will be rearing it’s ugly head. We hereby call on Dana Air to give customer satisfaction and not discrimination against the Deaf and people with Disabilities.”
