Taraba State Association of the Deaf had finally sworn-in newly Elected Executives, with the new chairman appealing to the State Governor, Arc. Darius Ishaku to fulfil his promise on appointing a Special Assistant to the Governor on Disabled Matters.
The newly elected chairman, Ishola Abraham made the appeal while giving a vote of thanks on behalf of the association during her inaugural event on Saturday.
Abraham lauded the Ministry of Social Development and the State Government for being Disability friendly in the State.
He praised Governor Ishaku for his good works and urged him to continue with the good job for the benefits of the entire Disability Community in Taraba State.
The drector of Rehabilitation for the Ministry of Social Development, in a brief speech, expressed her appreciation to the entire community of Deaf persons in Taraba State for diligently conducting a credible election and inaugurating Executives that will run affairs of the Association.
She further tasked the leaders to discharge their duties with the fear of God, zeal and determination for the Association to move on.
State Secretary of Taraba State Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONWPWD) Mr. Aliyu Mohammed Dados, enjoined the newly elected executives not to relent in their efforts in piloting the affairs of the Association to greater heights.
He further advised the leaders to be united, hard-working and honest.
