HiAnambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano has appointed 10 executive members to pilot affairs of the newly established Anambra State Disability Rights Commission (DRC).
This information was released in a statement by Head of Media, office of the Governor on Disability matters, Chidimma Ajemba, on Christmas day as the Government celebrated with People with Disabilities.
Among the appointees were:
Barrister Chukwuma B. Ezewuzie, current Special Adviser to the Governor on Disability Matters. Ezewuzie is to chair the Commission.
Barr. Chinenye Okeke, Secretary/Deputy Director, representing Ministry of Justice.
Comr. Ugochukwu Ernest C. Okeke, JONAPWD State Chairman – representing the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Anambra State Chapter.
Mrs Obianyo Anthonia, Director, rehabilitation – representing Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
Miss Victoria Okonkwo – Unit Head, Ministry of Basic Education (representing ministry of education).
Mr Tony Oli – representing Anambra State Sports Commission.
Bishop Moses Ezedebego – representing Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Dr Lady Pat Okeke, wife of Chief Godwin Okeke, GUO Motors – representing the private sector
Mrs Eucharia Anekwe – Director, Gender Perspective and Social Development Centre (representing Civil Society Organizations focused on Disability Issues).
Mr Williams Ndidika Umeh, retired Director of Education and Former Head of Department, Education and Social Development (Local Government Service Commission).
